This little ballerina stole my heart once again during her recital this weekend! The girl loves to dance. There are times I think ballet is too strict for her (she likes to do some crazy fun moves), but then she blows me away with her performances.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This year the recital theme was Seasons, Stella's class was spring. Stella loved it. She loved it so much she has begged to go back to the same dance school so she can continue to learn from her incredible teacher, Diadra.<br />

Stella's super sweet friend, Kaylin, performed the night before but came to Stella's night so she could cheer for her and give her a flower after the show. It is so sweet to hear her talking about that flower. Let me tell you a kind gesture like that DOES NOT get lost on my 5 year old. It truly makes her heart smile. It was so sweet.<br />

Grammie wins the prize for traveling the farthest to watch a 2 minute (if that) dance :) But she was so proud of Stella and Stella LOVED having her Grammie there. Of course the pink roses were pretty exciting too. It was so cute driving home with Grammie and Stella because Stella was talking a mile a minute about all the excitement behind stage and how she tried to find us to wave, but the lights were too bright and how she wants to dance this summer and stay with her teacher and friends and do more dances, etc.<br />
So I guess we're in for more dancing. I highly doubt, she'll change her mind. And lets face it---non of us want her to stop because it's just so stinken cute to see her up on stage.<br />
We love you Stell-Bell!<br />

What I learned While Surviving in the Woods<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oh my word y'all, we ventured out of the city into the woods for the FIRST Yazwinski camping trip. To say it was awesome would be an understatement, to say it was perfect would be a lie, but in the daily life with a toddler and 5 year old this mama had a blast. I should note...it was close to perfect. Ok, actually it probably couldn't have been better, but I need to allow room for improvements so I'll leave it at that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did, however, learn a lot on this trip in the woods with my family and friends. If I'm honest, I was and am super excited about camping this summer. I want to unplug and enjoy my family, really enjoy them. I want to get dirty with them, run around with them, laugh with them (I mean really laugh---the kind of laughing that leaves images of my sweet girls smiles in my heart forever), wake up with them (very early), snuggle up with them, explore with them, etc, BUT I was a bit hesitant. I didn't want to let it show. After all, I'm mom and I need to make sure we're ready to survive in the woods.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I grew up camping, so I knew I would like it, but could I handle being the one in charge? MY mom used to do all the preps and made sure we were fed (3 times a day...in the woods, that's a lot:). She made sure we had enough clothing and the right options. I was confident going into this whole camping as a family idea, but then I started doubting my capability. What if we hate it? What if it rains (it did down pour one night, but it was awesome)? It went on and on...BUT you know what...we had an unbelievable time and I'm so excited for the next trip!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I learned some fun things along the way...</div>

Enjoy the nighttime conversations. Our girls did so much during the day, it was fun to hear their stories of adventure before bed. Oh and bring extra blankets!<br />

Relax! Camping can be hard work for the parents, BUT it's still a break from the real world, so rest your eyes if need be.<br />

Brave the great outdoors with friends. Ditch the makeup, fancy clothes (since I have so many fancy things:)), and soak in the vitamin D.<br />

Get wet, splash around, THEN go play in the dirt. Make mud! Search for bugs! Dig! But always wash your hands before dinner :)<br />

Have fun. Laugh it off. Unplug. While I did have phone service and brought out my lifeline (aka phone) to take pictures and keep you all updated on Facebook...it was so refreshing to soak in life. To really experience the fun. I didn't care what the rest of the world was up to. My whole world, Tom and the girls, were making memories. We were in God's beauty taking it all in.<br />
<br />
I did walk away with close to a million mosquito bites and a killer farmer's tan, but the smell of sweet Emme's hair as she snuggled in so close each morning and Stella's giggles when helping me make tacos in a bag are memories not posted on Facebook or tweeted to friends---they're memories I'll cherish as the first time the Yazwinski Clan braved the woods with friends!<br />

Happy Mother's day to some of the most incredible women I know!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today--Mother Nature treated us folks in the pacific Northwest with a little vitamin D. Believe me it's was very much appreciated</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPGP5jsm0rVhyaksV_6p9ZIZNB-4rnqyUV7SFA34MIWrtFVdK5xz8X_G2Qo9mDjXaSfKWpbA770fbvRTnxILmuKcqa0_m05lHcuAARyGqe16C-Q_HdWFxyzzc1YKjB1B97C02xaNfDVhI0/s1600/photo+3+%25287%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPGP5jsm0rVhyaksV_6p9ZIZNB-4rnqyUV7SFA34MIWrtFVdK5xz8X_G2Qo9mDjXaSfKWpbA770fbvRTnxILmuKcqa0_m05lHcuAARyGqe16C-Q_HdWFxyzzc1YKjB1B97C02xaNfDVhI0/s1600/photo+3+%25287%2529.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
So I have been blessed by amazing women in my life, but no one compares to my MOM and Grandma! NO ONE! I know many of us are blessed to fight for the Title: My Mom is the best! But my mom is perfect. Yep, I said perfect. She's perfect because even in her shortcomings (I've yet to find any, but she's human)...she's the PERFECT mom for ME. God knew exactly what He was doing when He blessed me with her. She's my rock, my sounding board, my cheerleader, my friend, my punching bag, my advice-giver, my listener, my "calm down Sydney"...she's my everything! And while we have ups and downs...She is the perfect mom for me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And the women who paved the way for my mom...is my grandma or as I used to call her Mom-mom. I'm beyond blessed to spend the day outside in the sun chasing after my girls while sipping lemonade with my mom and mommom. I know it's a blessing and I'm trying my hardest to not take it for granted!<br />

I just love that at 84 years old...my grandma thought taking a "selfie" was super fun!<br />

You know it was a good Mother's day when you get to hug your moms neck, grandma's neck, and return home with two worn out kiddos!<br />
<br />
Like I said before I know I'm blessed. And while my mom and grandma are my favorites (and rightfully so) there are so many women old and young...in state and out of state...raising toddlers and welcoming grandkids that have impacted my view on motherhood. Some of you help keep me sane during this crazy ride we call mommy hood while others impacted my life years before I had my own little ones that call me mommy.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love you all! Happy Mother's Day!</div>

Yes, I'm sneaking up on my 34th birthday, but I want to be like my 5 year old! I know many of you understand, but I'll still explain. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was a big week at the Yazwinski house. We're slowly (or not so slow if you ask me) approaching the elementary school stage of our lives. WHAT?!?!? I'm not quite sure how this has happened, but it's getting real...and it's getting real FAST! (ok, I know...slow or fast...I need to pick a speed, but I just can't wrap my brain around it!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I digress. Anyway, I'm so proud of our first born. Stella is beyond excited about kindergarten and was ready for the open house to explore her future school and meet her potential teachers. Before we even registered for school she told me she wanted to ride the bus the first day. Gulp, but I'm proud of her confidence and eagerness to try something new.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyAfdqPZMzxkWZFqn8LwiIY7NkwIICpZ-o_DyeUqWWnqgkgSIkRIJ2zIUUP9OESLtj3voylNCwoWKvUxoxhx_LvzcvLbrFFEetTX5-U6H_gU21G2QQW15J4O6G-SNHbK2Jakhu1urBhM-3/s1600/kindergarten.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyAfdqPZMzxkWZFqn8LwiIY7NkwIICpZ-o_DyeUqWWnqgkgSIkRIJ2zIUUP9OESLtj3voylNCwoWKvUxoxhx_LvzcvLbrFFEetTX5-U6H_gU21G2QQW15J4O6G-SNHbK2Jakhu1urBhM-3/s1600/kindergarten.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
My heart skipped a beat as wee were heading into the school my independent Stella ran up and grabbed her daddy's hand. She wasn't nervous or one bit hesitant, but instead she was proud to kick off this new journey (and if we're honest, was probably reassuring daddy that this was going to be "ok"). It also reminded me that while I know she's ready to take on the world, she is still 5 and likes to hold our hand.<br />
<br />
So while I knew Stella would know a few friends from preschool, the gym, church etc...I wasn't prepared for just how social she really is. As we were waiting for the "welcome" to start, Stella was working the room saying hi to friends she just met at the park THAT day, hugging "old" friends, introducing her gym friends to her buddies from church, and making sure WE noticed each and everyone of those little people in her life. She was smiling from ear to ear. Friends from "all" over coming together---I could just tell she knew kindergarten was going to be amazing!<br />
<br />
When we moved here less than 2 years ago, I prayed the girls would adjust well and make friends. Prayers answered!<br />
<br />
After a quick welcome to the Class of 2028 (wait, WHAT?!?!) Stella was off to check out the kindergarten classes and meet the teachers. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGY5qd7ogAxtppy7qq3Uxg9CHf7auICVk7A5l5EEAhzZQvGybbczb16dLYae8sVGSk9-0zS7LPsXgUBbYyjzRgWOMsk42AsptlR_dBfMk9x1OXFAy1jzmdlW2gFlMWwyFyHHZ-2RPG8uAk/s1600/kindergarten1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGY5qd7ogAxtppy7qq3Uxg9CHf7auICVk7A5l5EEAhzZQvGybbczb16dLYae8sVGSk9-0zS7LPsXgUBbYyjzRgWOMsk42AsptlR_dBfMk9x1OXFAy1jzmdlW2gFlMWwyFyHHZ-2RPG8uAk/s1600/kindergarten1.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We checked out the art projects, work tables, desks, and even some tadpoles. She was soaking it all in while Tom and I were still trying to wrap our mind around this new adventure just a couple months away.<br />
<br />
BUT, then she did it! She walked straight up to one teacher and said "Hi Mrs....I'm Stella! Thanks for letting me see your classroom." Then the next class, the same thing! She was so eager to know the teachers and for them to know her. She wasn't one dot shy, nervous, or hesitant. She stood tall, shook their hands, and never doubted this was right where she needed to be!<br />
<br />
So, THAT's why I want to be like my daughter when I grow up. I want that youthfulness that isn't jaded or judged. I want to stand tall, walk into a room and never question my reason for being there.<br />
<br />
As we grow older, we lose that innocence, we start doubting our purpose, we compare ourselves to a fault, we are friends with certain people while we aren't fans of others, at times we even forget who we are. Let's face it--- in a world where we're told how to look, act, parent, etc, etc we sometimes forget to stand tall and accept that no matter how flawed we may be we're the perfect version of who God created us to be.<br />
<br />
So instead of letting those evil comparisons get in my head, Stella reminded me to LIVE life, stand tall and take on the world! Instead of getting caught up in cliques, or the he said she said dramas...I want to be confident in who I am and not worry about what the world or what others say is right or wrong. I want to be REAL.<br />
<br />
While her world may include the ABC's, a new bus route, and fun art projects she's taking it on with gusto. She's ready to get to know the teachers, meet knew friends, introduce old friends to new friends, and have fun.<br />
<br />
This week Stella reminded me we were all innocent once. Yes, life happens and it's not always pretty but little reminders to accept everyone no matter who they are, how they dress, how they parent, what they wear, drive, where they live---you get the idea. I know we wont always play nice in the sandbox, but it sure is nice witnessing my daughter eager to see the friends she loves, love each other. I know they wont all be best friends and times will change, but right now it's refreshing!<br />
<br />
I'm thankful for my social butterfly! I pray that she'll seek out the shy/nervous kiddos when kindergarten kicks off and be used as a tool to help that transition of to a new school be a little less scary.<br />
<br />
And while I fully expect to go through a box of kleenex the first <strike>day</strike> month of school, I am excited to see how God uses my little Stell-Bell.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Well, Emerson is potty trained. It was easier than I expected. Nothing is easy with this munchkin, BUT is she really potty trained?<br />
<br />
Poor girl loves her big girl panties, but going number 2 stresses her out. I remember this with Stella, but as soon as we put a diaper on her she'd go. We did that so she wouldn't hold it for too long. I know this is a lot of TMI, but Em can hold it even longer. The diaper trick doesn't work. Any tips? We've started a sticker chart and she loves it. We're hoping this helps and I bought my last box of pull ups tonight (at least that's what I keep telling myself), so we're hoping she relaxes a bit with #2.<br />
<br />
Besides that...I can't believe we're ALMOST done with diapers! What? Where are my babies?Sydneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17350970464811598906noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566791449683108286.post-71361715161075845512014-01-10T23:15:00.000-06:002014-01-10T23:15:06.821-06:00We're all in...12th Man!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

If you've followed the NFL at all this year, then you know we're living in a very exciting time for the Seattle Seahawks! Emme is a very proud fan. And despite what you may think she's not jumping on the 12th man bandwagon...she has loved the SEA-HAWKS since we moved here. She is a loyal fan. How cute is her skirt? My friend Lindsay made it...and is selling them if you want one!<br />

I know I'm bias. I know I'm her mom. I know I'm her biggest cheerleader. I know I'm her protector, BUT man on man this picture takes my breathe away. Stella truly is a beauty both inside and out. Her heart for her friends and family is worn on her sleeve. I learn so much from this sweetie everyday!<br />

Anyway, this ballerina had a Christmas dance for the other day. She was calling it her recital, but that's not until June. But what joy it was to see them strut their stuff. This is Stella's sweet friend Addy.<br />

We are very proud of Stella this year. Junior Kindergarten can be a bit overwhelming but she is taking on head on. She's come a long way from the beginning of the year and LOVES school. She is in a room of 7 boys and just 3 girls, but it's working. Not to mention she loves her teacher, Mrs. Robin, and talks about her all the time. You know you're little one is being loved on when they want to do extra homework so they can share it/show it off to their teacher.<br />
<br />

Emerson may be the cutest bumble bee I've ever seen, I know I'm bias. This fall I decided to enroll Emme is dance at our local community center. I wasn't sure how she'd do in dance so I wanted something not too intense. She loved it, but there were some tough days too. BUT when it came to perform she was the STAR.<br />

Ha! Gotta include this. At this point a lot of the other dancers were being wrangled to the stage.I have to admit, Emme surprised me. She was on mark even with her friends running everywhere. If I'm honest, it was usually the other way around during class. But like a said, a star was born.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
"Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up." Proverbs 12:25</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
If you know me at all, then you know I was NEVER a cheerleader (at least not the type with pom poms and cute hair). My coordination and height nipped that opportunity in the bud. But during a recent "ah-ha" moment with the ladies of my Bible study we were talking about dreams, what excites us.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well, I love to write (hence why you're seeing more of me on this blog), but when I really sat down to think about it I realized I get a major high on watching people's visions/dreams become reality. Is that weird? I don't know, but if someone has a vision to start something new I LOVE to see it become reality. Big or small I get so excited. I remember when I was a reporter back in the day I enjoyed telling "feel good" stories not only because it was a positive in a very negative world, but it usually meant I was telling a story on a topic someone was passionate about or proud of. Whether it's some one's desire to further their career, start a new adventure, expand their family, explore a new hobby, visit a dream location...I get excited to hear their plans, their goals to get there, and then of course watching the dreams become reality. And when/if possible I love to help in anyway that I can. If that means i just encourage them along the way, then sign me up.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So you see...I AM A CHEERLEADER. I may not have pom poms or a cute little skirt, but I can encourage my fellow dreamers. Maybe I'm meant to be a motivational speaker?!?!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Right now, I bust out my "pom poms" for two little princesses that prance around my house and keep me on my toes and knees all at the same time. Stella's dream right now is to be The Tooth Fairy when she gets older, so we talk a lot about pixie dust and how she'll get into rooms to leave treats for other little toothless kiddos. Emme is entrenched in dance and princesses right now, so she wants all things magical. I just asked her what she wants to be when she grows up...her response, "Rapunzel, Tinkerbell, Brave, Tiana..."</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Big dreamers here at the Yazwinski house! And since my dad is awesome and has an incredible bucket list we're ALL living a dream with him in January. He and my mom are taking us all to Disneyland in January. Wahoo!!! To say I'm excited is an understatement. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Disneyland is one of my most favorite places and to experiment it with my girls while they're consumed with princesses will be beyond magical.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Ok, I feel like I'm rambling...so GO TEAM.</div>

I love this song by Laura Story. What if blessings come through rain drops? What if...sometimes we're so wrapped up in the "now" that we can't see the blessings around us.<br />
<br />

<b>"Blessings" by Laura Story</b></div>

<div style="border: 0px none; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 13px; margin: 0px 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;">
We pray for blessings, we pray for peace<br />
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep<br />
We pray for healing, for prosperity<br />
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering<br />
And all the while, You hear each spoken need<br />
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things<br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: magenta;">'Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />What if Your healing comes through tears<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise</span></span><br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />
We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear<br />
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near<br />
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love<br />
As if every promise from Your word is not enough<br />
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea<br />
And long that we'd have faith to believe<br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />
<span style="color: magenta;">'Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />What if Your healing comes through tears<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise</span><br />
When friends betray us<br />
When darkness seems to win<br />
We know that pain reminds this heart<br />
That this is not,<br />
This is not our home<br />
It's not our home<br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />

We get too busy. We commit to too much. We say "yes." We say "no." And at times we can look back and realize we didn't take time to DANCE. Now I don't mean literally. But I must admit...I love to bust a move even if I do have two left feet. I mean that sometimes we don't take time to breathe and enjoy life.<br />
<br />
Whether its work or kids or school, we can just forget to take time to revel in what makes our heart happy.<br />
Ok, so you're probably wondering where is this coming from? Sydney dance? What's going on? Well, there were two triggers for this post.<br />
<br />
The first is an amazing article from the Huffington Post. I'll let you check it<a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/06/breast-cancer-flash-mob-deborah-cohan_n_4227915.html"> out here</a> on your own, but seriously can you imagine being part of that dance party!!! And HELLO that girl can move!!! I only hope I can have her attitude when facing an uncertain time. Shoot, I hope I have that attitude on a day to day basis.<br />
<br />
The second trigger to writing this post...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2fZ5ccgVZzanmt8IMxngR8O_lqZ-oS1ExfQuEUWtNOCTYJI9fgZzBh5CCEhH7ollS8xEJNrKE7pb2MNFFQMbxwz5BMaNiZ-6RX1g1BEgAUts2Se2yDkvaeJkP1HevLSJoowHveVwCFQJ3/s1600/photo+(4).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2fZ5ccgVZzanmt8IMxngR8O_lqZ-oS1ExfQuEUWtNOCTYJI9fgZzBh5CCEhH7ollS8xEJNrKE7pb2MNFFQMbxwz5BMaNiZ-6RX1g1BEgAUts2Se2yDkvaeJkP1HevLSJoowHveVwCFQJ3/s320/photo+(4).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(the energy and passion from my friends Lindsay and Kristine when I took this was contagious...so fun!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Dancing! About a year ago when I moved here I was on the hunt for a local gym. When we finally joined one, I, of course, had to check out all the classes offered. That's when I found <a href="http://rizzmic.com/">Rizzmic</a>. And the rest is history. I really love this class and the ladies that teach it each week. Their energy is contagious and I secretly want to be like them when I grow up :)<br />
But in all seriousness...this class ignited my love to work out again. I attribute much of my weight loss and desire to live a healthier lifestyle to shaking it on the dance floor.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHO9pYtTrwho5Tlf_I1CZdSuTRCRUPU-aqBRzrInapuYts15OeiIuWbbLlR3ppRzxEFxU4CtglfV7uoQF683jlejY_yL1-Et2pYhym0aVnuuCTytQREuJNVhY_siTU0_ugC2_En1_kny1q/s1600/photo+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHO9pYtTrwho5Tlf_I1CZdSuTRCRUPU-aqBRzrInapuYts15OeiIuWbbLlR3ppRzxEFxU4CtglfV7uoQF683jlejY_yL1-Et2pYhym0aVnuuCTytQREuJNVhY_siTU0_ugC2_En1_kny1q/s320/photo+(3).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(this picture was last month at the Rizzmic Halloween event. We were Rizzmic fanatics)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It lets me be silly and pretend I can really move like the talented ladies teaching the moves. And besides the health aspect, I've made and built friendships with some lovely girls through going to this class together. Who doesn't love to laugh at themselves every now and then...and with friends, that's icing on the cake.<br />
<br />
So friends, don't wait until you've got perfect technique or the best moves...get out and DANCE. For me, dancing is literal,but not because I want to win the next season of So You Think You Can Dance, but because it sparked my love of feeling good. Yes,Rizzmic is my favorite workout class right now,but I"m starting to enjoy running (enjoy may be a stretch). And have a goal of running a half marathon. What?!?!?!<br />
<br />
I have no excuse not to. So I'm choosing to dance! It's not always easy (ok, I really hate running) but it's fun. Set a goal and go!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhko7CEwPtOtpQ6anXR8i4YpZseV6EWVYMeskNs3LSa4fi9fLelt9bG3BxHzTShtAikh5NQTC-8e01wPebIlYy5HoJ9oFblrW2e-rDHbLT1xAIFhW10kJT06lEaNjjSLnGK-u_ScVBwocF8/s1600/photo+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhko7CEwPtOtpQ6anXR8i4YpZseV6EWVYMeskNs3LSa4fi9fLelt9bG3BxHzTShtAikh5NQTC-8e01wPebIlYy5HoJ9oFblrW2e-rDHbLT1xAIFhW10kJT06lEaNjjSLnGK-u_ScVBwocF8/s320/photo+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The munchkins are both in dance and oh how it makes my heart happy to see them explore their passions.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAfbkXRLyCd0YSND1cUEPeFc6MVFJvjXZTzz8xDeH6lNU7ibT7yvJJ4hrrKaM_wndu7wHzhcs5ibxm69NZFqZ6kc9RclPK0QUhgbhW2eKBzUikBFnrD9nk8rjKj1nR40uiWb-ORigeChhm/s1600/photo+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAfbkXRLyCd0YSND1cUEPeFc6MVFJvjXZTzz8xDeH6lNU7ibT7yvJJ4hrrKaM_wndu7wHzhcs5ibxm69NZFqZ6kc9RclPK0QUhgbhW2eKBzUikBFnrD9nk8rjKj1nR40uiWb-ORigeChhm/s320/photo+(2).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>

They love to learn new moves and show us their talent. So, what are we waiting for? Dust off those tutus and dance! Wouldn't it be awesome if we all smiled like this because we were happy. Sincerely happy and doing what we love to do. And maybe some of us haven't found exactly what makes us beam...so lets explore what's out there. Maybe its a local art class, or a call to the nearest travel agent, reconnecting with an old friend or new friend.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Dream! And dream big. </div>

This was captured at a wedding my hubs and I went to this summer...I just love him. I'm thankful we took time to dance. Literally, but I'm thankful we take time just to enjoy each other too.<br />
So, by now it's obvious to me, that the triggers that tugged at my heart to sit down and write were a reminder to ME to dance. yes, I'm going to Rizzmic tonight and will sweat, shake it and laugh with friends, BUT where else in my life can I seize the moment if you will.<br />
So in the meantime, our house will be dancing. Come on over and prance around the living room and family room with the girls and I..we've got moves like Jagger :)<br />
<br />
<span style="text-align: center;">In a day and age of trying to get to the top and being the best ourselves...lets take time to encourage those around us to be the best! And even during the uncertain times, like the women video above, DANCE.</span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
"Let them praise His name with the dance..." Psalm 149:3</div>

To say I love these monkeys is a gross understatement. They are my EVERYTHING. Their smiles are my sunshine.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlCQaTenBi4pHMmQBarlPC3V9yVkqMqIlnkLqy_RbqgbmSUXu3buf0euZj6BB2NWFgvpskB0wqN-lFxlBLKFfDDSwSlXMk2KM48m10CZr3ksMf4droHTlAQLwdXuE3V19g17qFdrMQN5KY/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlCQaTenBi4pHMmQBarlPC3V9yVkqMqIlnkLqy_RbqgbmSUXu3buf0euZj6BB2NWFgvpskB0wqN-lFxlBLKFfDDSwSlXMk2KM48m10CZr3ksMf4droHTlAQLwdXuE3V19g17qFdrMQN5KY/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+155.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So if they are my heart...why do I feel guilt when I read something like<a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rachel-macy-stafford/taking-away-my-daughters-smile_b_4099438.html"> this</a>? Simple, I'm not perfect and I struggle too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhACSDQvGigF4C5smMzcTpDG1Dgq0W0GOAfZ-pNb9h-jB6aq2Mr6mPUGuj0sDLHvZznDR96bZhjoF6ys1FzCX2KbiiH8M1nOo38_XWXYZVFxNbo3bNAoiNXPhLPfxZ79yTNA_uBVN8ojJMu/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+159.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhACSDQvGigF4C5smMzcTpDG1Dgq0W0GOAfZ-pNb9h-jB6aq2Mr6mPUGuj0sDLHvZznDR96bZhjoF6ys1FzCX2KbiiH8M1nOo38_XWXYZVFxNbo3bNAoiNXPhLPfxZ79yTNA_uBVN8ojJMu/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+159.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
But I will do ANYTHING to make sure they know they're loved, protected, and perfect in God's eyes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1z9mLe7pjoK5g-L1UFi94EZPgZHp4bl4CqGT3T77iD2rUyc5REOCd6h9Z50FTYua_U6ZRozANXy9KnLTxrsLUTdpjkKa6y8zVRFUGSOlO5XSHBYnO6mpcUU51Q9UUjdIeQg_zZ76-0EIx/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+184.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1z9mLe7pjoK5g-L1UFi94EZPgZHp4bl4CqGT3T77iD2rUyc5REOCd6h9Z50FTYua_U6ZRozANXy9KnLTxrsLUTdpjkKa6y8zVRFUGSOlO5XSHBYnO6mpcUU51Q9UUjdIeQg_zZ76-0EIx/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+184.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
So while we were attempting to take a couple fun pictures at the park the other day...I was reminded of my own convictions. Just last year I wrote about getting away from the distractions in my life. Eliminating some of those screens, status updates, daily pictures, etc. I even wrote about it<a href="http://www.yazfam.blogspot.com/2012/11/dirty-laundry.html"> here.</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBedp_4zKHGWPlXbfGsyMd1ueVr7sribYnsJEdWtlZTpjITzWNCaeE5vpLaYZZQ7mWJL_SKTp2k_ITDIhTUjYfsQINYUfI_OyQKFIjl9FM1lNVhf_GmMjlFyqL_kmklNQWg3xfx56pQN6u/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+200.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBedp_4zKHGWPlXbfGsyMd1ueVr7sribYnsJEdWtlZTpjITzWNCaeE5vpLaYZZQ7mWJL_SKTp2k_ITDIhTUjYfsQINYUfI_OyQKFIjl9FM1lNVhf_GmMjlFyqL_kmklNQWg3xfx56pQN6u/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+200.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
So while I look like I have it together on instagram or facebook or whatever other social media addiction...I'm not keeping it real all the time. And the LAST thing I want to do is hurt my little one's hearts, free spirit or innocence. I don't want to wipe away their smile because we're running late because I had to see what so and so was doing via facebook or make sure all my peeps on instagram saw their cute or "unique" outfits that morning. NO, I need to give them my time AND attention. To me that doesn't mean I'm just in the room with them playing on my phone...it means on down on the ground playing WITH them. Whether it be Barbies, kitchen, or super heroes I'm all in! I hope I follow through with my deal with myself. These precious years are going by too fast...all the other stuff will still be there.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2cclSLZIdK2jIh-HjLIMxWFiWGWfpKQ6QHsrIo4tGroF2kM8IT2u-H6_8_jVmwETjW4ZH9MQHgcFzFEaY6CSQ4NdZB5dpGridSIKAh8WVOKjarE-AVMJsvCMloStr5qfa6l3LNT8PP3wd/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+206.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2cclSLZIdK2jIh-HjLIMxWFiWGWfpKQ6QHsrIo4tGroF2kM8IT2u-H6_8_jVmwETjW4ZH9MQHgcFzFEaY6CSQ4NdZB5dpGridSIKAh8WVOKjarE-AVMJsvCMloStr5qfa6l3LNT8PP3wd/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+206.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And because I always like to keep it real...Emme would only take pics laying in the leaves.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLM3PMMiNkseeRwJVeHTt__x5vRRv_xhnxO-c4CyQMjDxtB0QOdVYmPcyfwi7bRi6wz5GfwyXnjeHwhkzOgnvlb5yT-N1_DQinYsoKL37gHBSfaJwNutvfFYGeOZ8i59A3_b741CDHMYIA/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+223.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLM3PMMiNkseeRwJVeHTt__x5vRRv_xhnxO-c4CyQMjDxtB0QOdVYmPcyfwi7bRi6wz5GfwyXnjeHwhkzOgnvlb5yT-N1_DQinYsoKL37gHBSfaJwNutvfFYGeOZ8i59A3_b741CDHMYIA/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+223.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Stella did NOT want another picture taken at all!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5BM3i8kd7HIX_P6GeJDE5hDi8_L-kToMRDhd0UoVK3xvMtPPTuAc35neWwqhldA2epHQ8vy9rhD4T9tt_62KfK2vS1bVUem-DK_rxL03VVvpCF3ORTJ_sQ897EqFPKl2n5S8lhZY_EgNB/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+231.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5BM3i8kd7HIX_P6GeJDE5hDi8_L-kToMRDhd0UoVK3xvMtPPTuAc35neWwqhldA2epHQ8vy9rhD4T9tt_62KfK2vS1bVUem-DK_rxL03VVvpCF3ORTJ_sQ897EqFPKl2n5S8lhZY_EgNB/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+231.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And well, the sister shot I was hoping for....yeah this is it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUxJzesUZp8SvpkAHYWMKJaXuh2QcoognNEBTUhRkv2oBEgKsyU_4PpZnYAJQU7QX1DK8f0dHKwRYZbr4yYdoVn3Iqg6kE0smkV1s7vqUpkiFhffotTf5ZaevXy-_8i3Lb81xB7h_J0YQF/s1600/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+236.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUxJzesUZp8SvpkAHYWMKJaXuh2QcoognNEBTUhRkv2oBEgKsyU_4PpZnYAJQU7QX1DK8f0dHKwRYZbr4yYdoVn3Iqg6kE0smkV1s7vqUpkiFhffotTf5ZaevXy-_8i3Lb81xB7h_J0YQF/s320/2013+halloween+and+fall+pics+236.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
I really might frame this one because it's real life. It's my reality...I wouldn't change it for the world. So I'm going to enjoy it. I don't want to watch my kids grow up via facebook updates or instagram pics...I'm going to live in the moment and hold onto the real memories in my heart.<br />
<br />
Love y'all!<br />

My nephews are big into super heroes. Especially Sawyer. Well, when I visited them in North Dakota I did some pre-trip shopping and the girls were introduced to superheros. And WHAM...we had Bat Girl and Superman (not girl) this year for trick or treating!<br />

Of course daddy joined in the fun and was Clark Kent. Emme still calls him that sometimes.<br />

We had a full house of little cuties, but I guess I only got a full group shot on my phone and I'm too lazy to load them. But this picture is special because Halloween was our last night to play with our besties, the Bealls. The next day, yes the day after pumping their kids with sugar and excitement...Sean and Courtney loaded up their gang and headed south. They're now in California getting ready to begin their new journey. We will miss them so, but we know God has an amazing plan for them!<br />

I LOVE this picture. It's beauty catches my eye every time I come across it. I love the colors, the quantity, the setting, but I'm blown away by it's symbol.<br />
<br />
Tom took this last spring on our family adventure to the Tulip festival here in Washington. It was breathtaking in person, but I told him over and over that this was my favorite picture. You may think I'm crazy. Yes, tulips are one of my favorite flowers, but it's the symbolism I see in this picture every time I see it.<br />
<br />
Look at the single yellow tulip in the sea of red. Can you relate to that solo tulip? Have you ever found yourself in a sea of red looking for someone like you? Have you ever felt like the odd man out? Maybe you've even tried to be someone your not. I know I have. It can be a long and dreary journey. I LOVE that in this simple picture I'm reminded...I am who I am because God created me that way. I am PERFECT in his image. If I'm surrounded by a bunch of red tulips...then that's right where He wants me. He wants me to be different. If you really think about it, blending in is so boring. Quieting your opinion, beliefs, or style is unfortunate.Yet, in today's society we're told we're supposed to act like this, dress like that, be friends with her, don't trust him, parent like them...and on and on and on. It's no wonder we can get lost in a sea of red, but what if we took those situations and stood out. What if we owned being yellow and stood up for what we believe?<br />
<br />
I'm not saying we pick up our cross and walk up and down the streets chanting versus or Bible stories (some people do that and it can make an impact, but it's not for everyone), but what if we find security in the ONE who designed us to be unique? Security folks! I think that's almost an oxymoron for moms. Or at least for me. I question my mommy skills on a daily basis, shoot if I'm honest...probably an hourly basis. But I'm the best mommy for my little rug rats. I was chosen to love them the best I can!<br />
<br />
So as my eyelids are getting very heavy I'm well aware that I had NO idea what I was going to write about tonight and then I can across this picture. In a nutshell, this picture of tulips reminds me to be ME. If that means I'm different then the rest of the crowd, own it. OK, that is all :) Happy Wednesday.<br />
<br />
I'll leave you with a quote from the author of the current Bible study I'm doing that's stirred my desire to write again.<br />
<br />
"Our dreams allow the eagle of our personality to soar. They show us what we were designed to do." Leslie ParrottSydneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17350970464811598906noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566791449683108286.post-72461751469455042342013-10-29T22:50:00.003-05:002013-10-29T22:54:55.821-05:00I'm Back!Ok, ok, ok...before all you friends across the country that are not so happy with me and my lack of picture posting..I'm sorry. I know it's been a year. A YEAR!!! What??!? Anyway, a recent nudge via my current Bible study, re-ignited my need, my want, my desire, and my thrill to write again. So while I will post pictures I really am back at it to write again.<br />
<br />
About what you ask? I don't know. The simple answer, anything and everything. The kids, Tom, our new journey, my spiritual walk, my struggles, my triumphs...Who knows. Well, God knows!<br />
<br />
I guess I'm getting on this ride we call life and see where He'll take me. I told some of my sisters (you're right I don't have any biological sisters)...I mean the sisters that are such incredible friends that they're like family..I told them I don't care if no one reads what I write, I just want to write again!<br />
<br />
So read, don't read, comment or don't. I'm writing because of a tug on my heart. I love you all and I promise pictures ( not all the time).<br />
<br />
But tonight I'm simply declaring that I am writing/blogging again. There will be spelling errors and (gasp) maybe some grammar errors, but it'll be from my heart. Love yall!<br />
<br />
And to leave you tonight, I want to share a video that popped up so many times on my Facebook page I finally watched it.<br />
Today was a good mom day for me. My patience was in check, I was productive, I had one on one time with each of my sassy sweet hearts, and to top it off I cooked a decent dinner...BUT there are so many days that feel like a never ending train wreck. I'm sure we can all relate whether we admit it or not. There are days in life that seem like time seems to stand still as we count down every second to nap time or bed time. Well, this video reminded me that while we may feel like we failed on "that" day...the little hearts we're helping mold and shape see it differently! Check it out<a href="http://www.faithit.com/moms-kids-video-confession-touching/"> here</a>.<br />
<br />
I hope to write again soon!Sydneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17350970464811598906noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566791449683108286.post-90020318119312657742013-09-25T10:03:00.000-05:002013-11-08T10:04:44.546-06:002, 4, 6, 8...Let's Get Ready to Celebrate!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We actually got a family pic. Notice all the toys on the table. And yes, I did encourage everyone to wear sports gear. Stella is supporting the Beavs, Emme is Hog Wild, I was wearing one of my dad's old jerseys (Go Colts) and Tom was sporting his Sounders Gear.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And of course we were thrilled Papa and Gaga joined the crazies. My mom made an incredible flower arrangement for the bday girl. I mean incredible, but somehow I didn't capture it on my real camera.<br />

Happy birthday Stella! </div>

<b>"I hope my children look back on today and see a mom who had time to play.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>There will years for cleaning and cooking but</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>children grow old while we're not looking -</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>So settle down cobwebs,</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>dust go to sleep. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>I'm cuddling my little girls</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Cause children don't keep."</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love this quote for many reasons! I've seen several different versions and each time it tugs on my mommy hearts strings. And lets face it, who doesn't like a good excuse to hold off on housework. If I need to play with my kiddos and get down on the floor and play princesses then I do it. If I need to color and sing songs loudly then lets go. NO one likes laundry, dusting, dishes over playing. You don't have to have kids to agree with me on that one.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
BUT lately I've been convicted. I'm not a housekeeper at heart, so I do all I can to avoid it. I LOVE being a stay at home mom, but the cleaning part is not my favorite part of my job description. All that to say, I wondered if that quote really forces me to put down the mop and play some more, OR is it something else that distracts me from my kids? TV, yes I watch some but not when they're up. Computer, nope Emerson likes the buttons too much! What about my phone? Hmm...the smart phone. A great tool to help moms keep in touch with the outside world while juggling the chaos at home. A great tool to converse with adults while singing Jesus Loves Me and Twinkle Twinkle all morning long. A great tool to confirm your new normal of yoga pants, dirty hair, and running shoes is acceptable attire ALL the time. I admit I love my phone. It keeps me connected and in-the-know. This journalist at heart needs that, wants that and has to have the connection.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
BUT, and this is a big but, is it worth taking away that precious time with my girls?!? I know the answer. I left my job in broadcasting to love on their little hearts, so really the journalist in me knew what I was doing. I haven't regretted it for one second, not one. SO why do I let a silly thing like a phone be my distraction. I can use it whenever I want. It's always available. Lets be honest, I use it for calls on occasion, but it's the social media that drags me in. One minute I'm looking at a friends status update, then a friend of a friends picture, then an article attached to the cousin of a friend, and so on. You get my point. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So, I'm giving up Facebook and Twitter (I did that awhile ago, but elections drew me back in) for the time being. I will not be on it when my girls are awake or really even during nap time. If I need something from a friend I can actually dial a number. I will check Facebook at night because that is how I keep in touch with some people about important stuff (more than just day to day status update). You'll still see pictures of my little ones because instagram connects it to those sites. I'm not telling you this so you'll jump on board. I'm telling you as accountability. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am in charge of raising our girls to the best of my ability. I'm pretty sure that ability doesn't include social media. Not to mention I don't need to compare my parenting skills out there with everyone else on such sites. I'm the best mom to Stella and Emerson and I don't need to worry about if I did this right or that right. I don't need to beat myself up for not being as creative or superhuman like other incredible moms out there. I just need to be me. God chose me for my girls and I want to play more.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Yes, the laundry will still pile up, cobwebs will form, Facebook statuses will go unread, but life will go on and I'm excited. You might be wondering what I'll do during the time when the girls are playing on their own and don't want me to color or dance around like a <strike>fool</strike> princess? Simple, I'll be praying!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm currently in a great Bible study that is studying the incredible women of the Bible. Recently we studied Hannah. What an incredible women! I will be praying like Hannah. If i'm going to be the best mom I can be for Stella and Emerson, I'll be on my knees. My heavenly Father is far better than any advice on Facebook or one-liner on Twitter. So, bye bye social media, you'll be missed but I have no doubt life is about to get even more exciting.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm aware that only a handful of people read my blog, but this is for me and my commitment to my girls. And don't worry I'll still update this at night :)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
my new version:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>"I hope my girls look back on today and see a mom who had time to play.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>There will be years for status updates and tweets but</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Stella and Emerson grow old while we're not looking -</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Settle down smart phone,</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>screen go to sleep</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>I'm dancing with my princesses</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>cause children don't keep."</b></div>

Well, yesterday I told you that Tom has decided he wants to get out and hike/explore more. He meant it. This morning we were out the door on our next adventure. It was super fun. This hiking trail is only 2 miles from our place and super fun. Stella absolutely loves it! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWhds04NFz1mqaYhLx6K6zPdaYbdIdbywQDAHCJ0owEexidWDPuTdhx_lMifANK8zpIYiUrGpWX9UBBaB4qQcCllfnhFHXBc5_LGrSU5mSWR4yQy2znccX5MeA5p65fUxPYnMZgvi8nugw/s1600/photo(55).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWhds04NFz1mqaYhLx6K6zPdaYbdIdbywQDAHCJ0owEexidWDPuTdhx_lMifANK8zpIYiUrGpWX9UBBaB4qQcCllfnhFHXBc5_LGrSU5mSWR4yQy2znccX5MeA5p65fUxPYnMZgvi8nugw/s320/photo(55).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Emerson warmed up to it, but when we first arrived she had just woken up from a quick car nap so she wasn't thrilled. I've always LOVED the outdoors so I'm game for these new outings.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvtZBTwHBJhD4WFirkUDvw8qrPm1sjNy5zHByO4BAb8xeoqPpX7_Tx1nmgZOudLeYdtHeTBgqAg0kFYxiGsqg_wMHQzRONZ3ydsEAivV4MZ8KJFOVVroibRghZqG9I2HUhQ6p7xcIu9FPY/s1600/photo(58).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvtZBTwHBJhD4WFirkUDvw8qrPm1sjNy5zHByO4BAb8xeoqPpX7_Tx1nmgZOudLeYdtHeTBgqAg0kFYxiGsqg_wMHQzRONZ3ydsEAivV4MZ8KJFOVVroibRghZqG9I2HUhQ6p7xcIu9FPY/s320/photo(58).JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
Tom took exploring to the NEXT level. I've never heard of this, but I guess <a href="http://www.geocaching.com/">geocaching</a> has been around for awhile. Basically, if you're familiar with the show Survivor, it's like looking for the hidden idol. Guess what?! We found our first idol/treasure. Tom had clues we were following on his phone, but it wasn't super easy or obvious.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi88JUjpeqDmoW7YuOSNiYxlwXEIh-k50Q_w8dR5FlYUfO_ct9T-3Zts2jYprx6CJTVLE50SPIjk6t-AVJ5-wcvNXr_KKjoggmDnN9EFfx8gxelTfOzWh4Xw7ECARgBnFE_jqKwQ4mLvGLA/s1600/photo(56).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi88JUjpeqDmoW7YuOSNiYxlwXEIh-k50Q_w8dR5FlYUfO_ct9T-3Zts2jYprx6CJTVLE50SPIjk6t-AVJ5-wcvNXr_KKjoggmDnN9EFfx8gxelTfOzWh4Xw7ECARgBnFE_jqKwQ4mLvGLA/s320/photo(56).JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
For this treasure you sign this scroll and then put it back in it's holder and place it back in its hiding spot for the next lucky treasure seeker. How cool is that?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuerD5YYKenk8eDG-BSw5Hr8-PJ5oYtr-Xvg_FWF5kGGve-AfT9OF-CYpwIP-6HYqglrBakhz40wRjJ9EQE0B6Qka_4Won9S1KqA0ZBB_JInh8Tgh8jvLkZnemmrxSXS-eFA4yJsnosU6K/s1600/photo(57).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuerD5YYKenk8eDG-BSw5Hr8-PJ5oYtr-Xvg_FWF5kGGve-AfT9OF-CYpwIP-6HYqglrBakhz40wRjJ9EQE0B6Qka_4Won9S1KqA0ZBB_JInh8Tgh8jvLkZnemmrxSXS-eFA4yJsnosU6K/s320/photo(57).JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
Stella was proud of our findings. She's already talking about our next treasure hunt. Luckily, Tom says there are lots around here.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6TFyrST2e7ms9rqB3FmtBgssBUbC8DXUhFjsBPW_bJ2UaAvs_butLzwzHw3lpULjDyWHOWWhD4GTbw-fGSGoPTTOqzOj_b2vtJsfPU722dg72m0tSLaQLNqtH7Qrg0DmcUb8uDwGqO1zH/s1600/photo(59).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6TFyrST2e7ms9rqB3FmtBgssBUbC8DXUhFjsBPW_bJ2UaAvs_butLzwzHw3lpULjDyWHOWWhD4GTbw-fGSGoPTTOqzOj_b2vtJsfPU722dg72m0tSLaQLNqtH7Qrg0DmcUb8uDwGqO1zH/s320/photo(59).JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
Stella wanted to keep the treasure, but was also excited about making sure it was covered just like when we found it so the next person really had to look hard at the clues.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZOHhFOTK5yb4Keq4XeDq6dFOU6e5wHptkAOYMI_LmHwLJtp-igab1pQQJ2SgZgxgoeOVyoXn8lk07fquZdk4_h4QqwFgdbIW5ZTiFz-Dw_QCpLdRHJp9Mm2XIBvRpMtgaJJFUhbYTNPE6/s1600/photo(60).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZOHhFOTK5yb4Keq4XeDq6dFOU6e5wHptkAOYMI_LmHwLJtp-igab1pQQJ2SgZgxgoeOVyoXn8lk07fquZdk4_h4QqwFgdbIW5ZTiFz-Dw_QCpLdRHJp9Mm2XIBvRpMtgaJJFUhbYTNPE6/s320/photo(60).JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
Covered in moss. I told you it's not super obvious. Anyway, it was another fun family outing before Tom had to head to work this afternoon. I have no doubt we'll be on another treasure hunt soon.<br />
<br />
Tom says geocashing is everywhere so if you have little thrill seekers in your family check it out. I'd love to hear about other found treasures.Sydneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17350970464811598906noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566791449683108286.post-41437620892739983842012-11-02T15:26:00.002-05:002012-11-02T15:26:47.847-05:00Family Exploring<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Tom's off today and the weather forecast looked good so we decided to go exploring (as Stella calls it). I'd heard about the Snoqualmie Falls and its not far from us at all so we loaded up and headed out. We were not disappointed. It was beautiful<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwjyo93Q5grgVqYxLbVt4khPQ8l-A6l2hyI-I06e8W2E_Z_T6psWWpQh-jvnzBLuJNdMG7g7_MixDonPc0CuMzwsVtV3QSRW10gzr7FCUhdco3-BdEugOW8_LER5qpC-gAsyeodoOSHFh4/s1600/halloween+falls+012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwjyo93Q5grgVqYxLbVt4khPQ8l-A6l2hyI-I06e8W2E_Z_T6psWWpQh-jvnzBLuJNdMG7g7_MixDonPc0CuMzwsVtV3QSRW10gzr7FCUhdco3-BdEugOW8_LER5qpC-gAsyeodoOSHFh4/s320/halloween+falls+012.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
Ok, I know, I know. I said it was supposed to be nice weather...and it was! This is mist from the falls. Isn't that crazy? Some viewpoints were a bit wetter than others but so worth it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCkDfY_hW1cIxYfDelXU5QqIuY4lGMWORbOyz2Zj_RMd478SHWyKlzC_mtO3TcSOjFzUWbAy21vwWE1qOh659Dy-Ck1ebaCw6P9IJ0rLXMFQoU2Fvhi1VxGSxMA-iMJjMW7JXyoKeotCE_/s1600/halloween+falls+014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCkDfY_hW1cIxYfDelXU5QqIuY4lGMWORbOyz2Zj_RMd478SHWyKlzC_mtO3TcSOjFzUWbAy21vwWE1qOh659Dy-Ck1ebaCw6P9IJ0rLXMFQoU2Fvhi1VxGSxMA-iMJjMW7JXyoKeotCE_/s320/halloween+falls+014.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
Stella loved it and wanted to keep exploring. I'm thankful we still have lots of areas to explore here.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Emerson was not a fan of the "wet"spots, but did enjoy the other areas.<br />

Love this little explorer. After checking out the falls we were on the hunt for a trail to explore. Unfortunately there's some construction around the falls so we couldn't hike around there, but we did find an incredible hiking trail closer to our place. I love getting outdoors with my favorite 3 people. Tom has decided he wants to get into hiking more, so I think this is just the beginning of family adventures.Sydneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17350970464811598906noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566791449683108286.post-46215063423121134292012-11-01T15:17:00.000-05:002012-11-02T15:18:30.344-05:00Happy Halloween<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We divided our trick or treating into two outings. Courtney's sister and brother in law wanted in on the fun so we hit the streets with them, then we went home, sprayed our hair pink and then headed out again once Tom/daddy got off work. These two were SOOO proud of their hair.<br />

Family photo. I'm so thankful for these memories.<br />
<br />
On a side note I'm also thankful for the Bealls. Court's sister, Whitney, walked into her house and asked us if we ever thought we'd live close together and be celebrating Halloween with our little ones. Well, honestly, no! Last year I was in Arkansas and Court in Washington. There wasn't even a thought that we'd both end up in the Seattle area. God is good and I'm so thankful that the Bealls have open their home to us as much as they have. I can't wait to get a house and show them the same hospitality.Sydneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17350970464811598906noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566791449683108286.post-48954062104473037942012-10-30T22:21:00.001-05:002012-10-30T22:21:43.846-05:00T-Ball Princesses<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

As part of the sports class Stella is in they cover soccer, t-ball and basketball. This was the last week for t-ball and these two hardcore teammates dressed the part. Don't all t-ball players wear princess gear?<br />

A couple Disney Princesses traded in their high heals for rain boots for a little trick or treating. Today we headed down to the Seattle Pier with Snow White and Sleeping Beauty to jump start our Halloween sugar high.<br />

Stella got this dress for her birthday from my grandma for dress up but she's been saving it for Halloween. She loves Sleeping Beauty and kept telling everyone that she was Sleeping Beauty and her sister was Snow White. Stella loved every minute of walking along the pier.<br />

It was a perfect day for the family outing. We went when it first started so Tom could show us around before heading to work. It never rained and there were even breaks in the clouds and we saw some sun. Love making family memories...especially when it includes two very sweet princesses.Sydneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17350970464811598906noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566791449683108286.post-83322691622247880212012-10-27T23:01:00.001-05:002012-10-27T23:01:03.763-05:004 Year Old Stats: Stella Lee<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I saved these pictures so I would remember to post Stella's 4 year old stats. Every year we mark our kids height on a wall at our house. Well, this year is a transition year for us with the move and before we left Arkansas Tom marked their heights on this tape measure. His parents were sweet enough to drive my car out to us and Tom was adamant that they remember the tape measure (we left it because we didn't think our stuff would still be in Arkansas). Oh the adventures of moving.<br />
Anyway, they remembered it, so before bed on her 4th birthday Tom got to work.<br />

No shocker there. Stella towers over friends her age and even older. The doctor says she's on track to be 5'9, so we'll see.</div>
